DIRECTOR OF FAITH & MISSION

YEAR 12 SEMINAR DAY

On Monday 3 February, Year 12 students had the privilege of attending an inspiring seminar day with speaker, mentor, and entrepreneur Carlo Cirillo. Known for his passion for personal growth and development, Carlo shared his wisdom and experiences, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who attended.

The day was divided into three powerful sessions: Know Thyself, Love Thyself, and Be Thyself. During the first session, Know Thyself, students were guided through self-reflection exercises, encouraging them to look within and better understand their values, strengths, and areas for growth. Carlo emphasised the importance of self-awareness as the foundation for personal development, helping students identify who they truly are beyond external expectations.

The second session, Love Thyself, focused on cultivating self-compassion and gratitude. Students were encouraged to reflect on the positive aspects of their lives, acknowledging the people and experiences they were grateful for. Carlo shared practical strategies for maintaining a positive mindset and building self-confidence, empowering students to embrace their uniqueness and value their worth.

In the final session, Be Thyself, Carlo encouraged students to live authentically and boldly pursue their dreams. He spoke about the importance of staying true to oneself and not being afraid to stand out or take risks. Students were inspired to set meaningful goals and were equipped with tools to overcome self-doubt and the fear of failure.

Throughout the day, students were also introduced to new breathing techniques designed to enhance focus and calm. These exercises not only helped them stay present during the sessions but also prepared them for an exciting challenge at the end of the day—the ice bath experience!

The ice baths, which lasted two minutes each time, provided a unique opportunity for students and teachers to step out of their comfort zones. Guided by Carlo's advice on breathing and mindfulness, participants faced the intense cold with courage and resilience. The experience was both physically and mentally challenging, but it left students feeling accomplished and energised. Many described it as a powerful reminder of their inner strength and ability to remain calm under pressure.

The Year 12 Seminar Day was not only educational but also deeply transformative. It created a positive and supportive environment where students felt safe to explore their emotions and aspirations. The lessons learned will undoubtedly stay with us as we all navigate our final year of high school and beyond.

On behalf of the Year 12 cohort, we would like to sincerely thank Carlo Cirillo for sharing his insights and wisdom with us. We also extend our gratitude to the teachers and staff who organised this unforgettable experience. It was a day of growth, courage, and inspiration, and we are truly grateful for the opportunity.
