Welcome to the 2025 School Year at Athol Road Primary School (ARPS)

I would like to extend a warm welcome to EVERYONE as we begin another school year filled with many exciting opportunities. Whether you are starting school for the first time, returning to school, joining us as a new student, are a parent, or part of our staff, I am thrilled to have you on the ARPS Team.

I’m pleased to share that the start of the term has been incredibly smooth, thanks to the dedication of our staff, the support from parents, and the enthusiasm of our wonderful students! Today, our Foundation students had their first day of school, and it was heartwarming to see their smiles and excitement as they settled in. Their energy and enthusiasm truly sets a positive tone for the term ahead.

As we step into this new school year, I am filled with confidence and optimism. Our school is more than just a place of learning; it’s a community where ideas are exchanged, talents are nurtured, and lasting friendships are formed. Together, we create an environment that sparks curiosity, fosters creativity, promotes wellbeing and inspires a passion for learning.

This year, we remain committed to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all. Our teachers and staff are here to support and guide students throughout their educational journey. Parents, your involvement is vital to our students' success. Our school thrives as a vibrant community, and together, we play an essential role in shaping the educational experience. We encourage open communication and a strong partnership between home and school to create an enriching experience for all.

We invite you to engage with our school by attending events, parent-teacher information sessions, and other activities throughout the year. Be sure to check newsletters and access Sentral for important updates and event details related to your child and what’s coming up in Term 1 and beyond.

You may have recently seen our students and parents on the news and social media with the Deputy Premier and Minister of Education, The Hon Ben Carroll MP, highlighting the benefits of the School Saving Bonus for families. Our students, parents and school council president all did a fantastic job – well done!

Welcome to the new staff at Athol Road Primary School 

I would like to welcome our new 2025 members of staff: Ella Brockley (Year 5/6 Integration Aide) Long Tran (Year 3/4 Integration Aide), Mel Demirkol (Year 3/4 Integration Aide), and Joseph D’Souza (Year 1/2 Integration Aide).

I would also like to welcome back staff returning from leave:  Ella Mechelen (Speech Pathologist) Sylvie Altena (Year 1/2 Teacher) and Rhiannon Williams (Kindergarten Teacher)

Happy Lunar New Year

Wishing the many of our school families who recently celebrated Lunar New Year a joyful and prosperous year ahead! May this new year bring health, happiness, and success. It has been lovely chatting to many of the students and parents about all the traditions and celebrations within our community. Here's to a wonderful year full of growth and new opportunities!
