Year 5 Lifesaving Carnival
Last Thursday, Year 5 students completed a day of life saving skills at Port Melbourne as part of the school's swimming program. The morning was spent learning about rips, life saving advice and DRSABC, as well as engaging in beach games. After lunch they took to the water to put into practise everything they had learnt. It was a fun day for all!
Here's what some students had to say:
'I learnt how to do CPR and what to do if your boat sinks.'
Levi
'I really enjoyed the nipper boards because we got to catch a wave on them.'
Milena
'I learnt about each beach has a different code and if you call 000,
you can give them the code so they know exactly where to go.'
Ruby R.
'The beach cricket was fun and the beach racing games were nerve-racking!'
James
