Welcome Back!
Welcome back to Term 1 — we hope everyone had a restful and joyful summer break. A special welcome to all new families joining the BNWPS community this year.
The Community Events Team (CET) helps create opportunities for connection through events and gatherings across the year. In 2025, we hosted events including the Winter Solstice celebration, Trivia Fundraiser, Spring Family Day High Tea, Pizza & Performance, and regular Plant & Produce Markets, and supported wider school events such as the Wominjeka Picnic and Spring Magic Market.
This year, we look forward to creating more moments for our school community to come together and connect. More updates coming soon — for now, we’re looking forward to seeing you at the Wominjeka Picnic on Friday 13 February, hosted by the amazing OSHC team.

We always welcome new volunteers to join our team, with flexible ways to get involved.
We organise a mix of major events (with subcommittees to share the load!) and smaller gatherings throughout the year that help keep our community connected. We always aim to work in balance, with flexible roles and no pressure—just contribute what you can, when you can; and more people are always needed, appreciated and welcome!
Why join the CET?
Volunteering is a fantastic way to:
- Get involved in school life from behind the scenes
- Give back to the BNWPS community
- Help create joyful moments for all our kids and families
- Build friendships with other awesome parents and carers
We’re especially keen to welcome more Dads and Male-Identifying Carers, and members from new school communities, to help grow our team in a balanced, sustainable and inclusive way.

All volunteers at the school need a valid Working With Children’s Check - click this link to apply if you don’t have one. It’s fairly straightforward and free for volunteers.
