Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Welcome back officially to Term 2! You will be pleased to know that our students have jumped back into school with enthusiasm, starting the term off beautifully. The calm that can be felt through the school is enabling our learning community to thrive.

Firstly, I would like to thank all our amazing families for supporting our additional school closure days at the start of the term. All staff were able to attend three professional learning days all based around the Science of Learning. Simply put, we were learning about the brain and how it works! This learning helps staff make connections to how we can best support our students to develop new ideas, concepts and recall.

We are really keen to show our parent community just what learning looks like at Our Lady's. Keep an eye out for our 'Learning Walks'. We will be offering the opportunity for new and existing families to come and see the exciting changes we have made in our learning as part of Magnify Sandhurst. We will be offering a variety of days for the remainder of the school term. Keep an eye out on Classdojo & Facebook for more information. We would love to see you there!

We are hoping our 'Learning Walks' give you a glimpse into the hard work our students, teachers and staff members are putting into our learning. Magnify Sandhurst combines evidence-based practices in teaching and learning to support each student's unique needs, strengths, and goals. The Magnify program focuses on strengthening core areas like literacy and numeracy, building supportive classroom environments, and integrating Catholic values in daily learning. We are committed to improving outcomes and providing a program where every student can flourish, inspired by the mantra, "Every Student, Every Teacher, Every School, Every Day!" We are keen to show our parents and potential new families exactly what this looks like in action at Our Lady's School. We have noticed the changes and want to share this progress with you all.

ANZAC DAY

A special thank you to Shailla, Henry, Mrs. D'Antonio & Miss Alesiani for representing the school at the Wangaratta RSL ANZAC Day Ceremony. Shailla and Henry proudly lay a wreath on behalf of the school.

Mother's Day

This year, we have a range of gifts with various prices on offer for our annual Mother's Day Stall. Our stall will run on Wednesday & Thursday afternoon. All gifts available are under $10. If you would like your child to purchase something, please send them along with some money and a bag.

Also, our Mother's Day Liturgy & Picnic will be held on Friday the 9th of May from 12pm in the Our Lady's Church. We will then venture back to school to participate in our picnic. Food from Cribbes Road will be delivered to anyone who places an order at 1pm. We hope to see you all there!

2026 Enrolments

Foundation enrolments for 2026 have now opened - if you have a sibling attending Our Lady's in 2026, now is the time to act. If you would like to book a tour of the school with your child, please pop into the office to organise a time.

Parking Reminder - White Street

Just a reminder for our parent/s & carer/s who are picking up children at White Street. We have been made aware that sometimes our parents are blocking the driveways of the residents. Please ensure you are parking respectfully to ensure no impact occurs to our neighbours. If you are turning in off Murdoch Road, please avoid using a personal residence driveway to turn around or park in. Children crossing at White Street need to be accompanied by an adult.

Blessings,

Cassie
