Catholic Identity

Mercy Prayer

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have  served at St. Mary’s.

It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

Kiwanis are organising the Mooroopna Carols in the Park, 2023, to be held on Saturday, 9th December at 6:30pm. The venue will be the John Gray Oval, Mooroopna.

A note will be sent out to all School Choir members next week, seeking their involvement in this great community event!

October - Mission Month!

We support a number of Catholic fundraising organisations each year - Caritas Australia during Lent and Catholic Mission during October. We also support St. Vinnie’s twice a year - during their June “Winter Woollies” collection and in December for their “Christmas Giving Tree.”

Catholic Mission is the Pope’s international mission agency that supports the gospel scripture:

“I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:10).

Catholic Mission contributes funding and provides project support to church-run initiatives in Africa, Asia, Oceania and South America, as well as remote dioceses within Australia.

We celebrated Crazy Socks Day

on Friday, 20th October

and raised $246.00 for

Catholic Mission.

Thank you for your support!

Catholics traditionally observe October

as the month of the Holy Rosary.

The Rosary is a series of prayers including

the Apostle’s Creed, the Our Father,

the Hail Mary and the Glory Be.

There are four mysteries of the Rosary,

which are traditionally prayed on particular

days of the week. These include the

Joyful Mysteries, the Sorrowful Mysteries

the Glorious Mysteries and the Luminous Mysteries.
