Year 6 Classroom News

Year Six have been reflecting on their time in primary school and simply enjoying the time they have together as a class. These are a few highlights and things they will miss about primary school.

Isabella

I could name thousands of highlights in 2023, Camp, Soccer Lightning Premiership, Excursions, having the role of Annie in Pirates Past Noon and so many more. But one of my favourite highlights is just being around and socialising with heaps of different people!

When I leave St Mary’s, I will really miss everyone. I’ve made some really close friends and memories with them. I’ll miss the teachers that I’ve had and working with other classes. I have always loved inter school sports, playing against other schools  with my friends was really fun.

I think the most important thing for me here at St Mary’s is probably my friends and lovely St Mary’s community. Of course I also will miss these wonderful classrooms, all these cool events and a bunch of other things.

I will miss all my friends and the heartwarming feelings I have had here throughout seven years. I will miss everything I have done here and all the people I have met during my time at school. I have made so many memories in the playground and classrooms. I will miss each teacher I have had each year and everything I was taught. St Mary's feels like a place I belong because I have been here for seven years.

I’m going to miss a lot about St Mary’s, and that's why it’s so hard to say one thing. I’m going to miss the teachers. I’m going to miss the way the school is run and how it personally helps every individual person. I’m going to miss the playground and how it holds so many memories from 7 years ago. Most of all I’m going to miss coming to school to see my friends, how my class makes school really fun and I’m going to miss everything about them and the school.

This year has been one of my best! Throughout the year I’ve had quite a few highlights. One I really enjoyed was our FBI topic of Immigration. I found researching immigration a topic that I was excited for from the beginning. I loved going to the Immigration museum and finding out about people's stories. In the first week of term four, we start an at school and homework task to turn a suitcase into a re-creation of what someone would bring on their journey of immigration. We could either make a story up or make a suitcase of the parent or grandparent. I chose my grandfather Antonios Stoitsis. I had a lot of fun putting together a suitcase and sharing my grandfather with all my companions.
