Puberty Family Education with Cath McCallig, Year 4 to Year 6
Our Family Education evening was attended by some parents and children in Year 4 to Year 6 last week, thank you to those who registered and participated.
Cath has passed on some resources and recommended books in the list below, as well as the following website which has useful information on puberty and development:

St Mary’s Got Talent
Our Year 6 Community Leaders and Wellbeing Leaders are organising a Talent Show to be held at the school Fete on Saturday 18th November at 1:30pm. Entry is open to all and the leaders will be providing further information at next week’s assembly.
Updated Landscape Master Plan
Our Landscape Master Plans have been updated thanks to Paul Pritchard, which now includes a planting schedule. This means we will be ready to tackle the next stage, the preparation of garden beds and planting of vegetation. Paul has also generated some 2D and 3D images of the desired results. All of our major event fundraising through the P&F this year will be going towards this project, with the Zen Zone and Playground gardens slated as priority areas to develop in Autumn 2024. The funds raised through the cake stalls will be used to purchase recreational equipment for the students to use in the Zen Zone next year. Some students have already had a sneak peak of the video and we are glad that they are just as excited by the vision as we are.
Italian Day, Friday 3rd November ( a message from Signora Vozzo)
A reminder that tomorrow we are celebrating Italian Day (carnevale). Students are invited to dress in a costume that is connected to Italy and its culture or make their own creative mask and wear it for the fashion parade. If this is not possible, dressing in the Italian colours of green, red and white is preferable.
The day will commence with the much loved fashion parade and a musical showcase from each year level. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend between 9:00am and 10:00am.
2024 Technology Program, 1-to-1 devices in Years 3 to Year 6
A reminder for families with students enrolling into Year 3 in 2024 to order and purchase a new Chromebook through the school before Friday 24th November. The order portal is now open at https://smstkildaeast.orderportal.com.au/ and closes on Friday 24th November.
Students enrolling into Year 4, Year 5 or Year 6 in 2024 and who have already purchased a Chromebook in 2023 will continue to use this device for 2024.
Students enrolling into Year 6 in 2024 who rented a Chromebook from the school in 2023 can continue to do so for 2024 for a fee of $150.
If you have any questions regarding the program, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
