Principal's Report

World Teacher Day

Happy World Teachers Day to the amazing teachers at our school! I want to take this moment to express our heartfelt thanks for their unwavering dedication, patience, and passion for teaching. They make a profound impact on the lives of our students every day, and for that, we are truly grateful. Thank you again to all the parents who contributed either some amazing treats or kind words of gratitude or both to our morning tea on Tuesday. Look out for the photos on the next page!

Secondary School Overnight Camps

In the spirit of holistic education and experiential learning, our secondary school students had a fantastic opportunity to participate in overnight camps in the last few weeks and next week. These camps not only offered a break from the traditional classroom setting but also provided a platform for our students to develop essential life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and personal and social skills.

I want to extend my gratitude to our dedicated teaching and support staff who made these camps a resounding success.

Important Reminder: Filling Out Compass Correctly for Absences

I would like to take this opportunity to remind all parents and guardians to diligently use our Compass system to report your child's absence when they are unable to attend school. Accurate and timely reporting of absences allows us to ensure the safety and well-being of your child and is a mandatory requirement by the Department of Education. This process helps us identify any issues promptly and maintain effective communication between the school and families. There will be a separate communication post with a guide to complete this process soon. You will be required to go back and complete any unapproved absences at this time.

I appreciate your cooperation in this matter, and your commitment to the correct use of the Compass system is greatly valued.

Halloween Costume Day:

On Tuesday 31st October, we invite our students to dress up in their favourite Halloween costumes and join in the festive spirit. Whether your child wants to be a spooky ghost, a friendly pumpkin, a brave superhero, or a magical creature from their wildest dreams, this is the perfect opportunity to let their imagination shine.

We will be offering prizes for best dressed and having a ‘trick or treat’ parade through the admin building too.

Middle East Conflict

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to cause distress for staff, students, families and carers, especially those who have family and friends in the region.

Our school is a rich and diverse community and acknowledging that it is vital that our students, staff and families all feel safe and included in everything we do.

I want to assure you that the department is monitoring the situation from a school security perspective.

While we want to maintain an open and welcoming environment, we are also being vigilant in terms of safety, ensuring all our procedures, like visitors signing in and out, are being followed.

If your child is impacted and/or distressed by the current conflict, you may find some aspects of this resource helpful:

Support is also available through external services including:

Please feel free to get in contact me if you would like to discuss this further.

Warm regards,
