Year 3&4

Students learned about how scientists classify living things into the groups of amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds, and fish. Students learned the characteristics of living things in these groups by through playing a game.

Year 3&4 students learned about vertebrates and invertebrates by making a play dough animal with a backbone and without a backbone to see which one could hold the most weight to see how a backbone functions.

Year 5&6

Year 5&6 students sorted a wide variety of examples of animal behavioural and structural adaptations to apply their learning about behavioural and structural adaptations.

Students learned all about how plants have adaptations that allow them to survive in their environment and did a scavenger hunt of plant adaptations in the school environment.
