I can't believe that we are now 1/2 way through Term 4.  I hope that the calendar sent out in the last few weeks helps plan for this very busy time of year.  

Media Night

Wow, what an amazing night we had on Wednesday.  I was so impressed and proud of our students in the way they have embraced our new specialist subject of Media and Technologies this year.  It was an incredibly impressive collection of learning and I am so excited about what the future brings if our student have skills like this after only 3 terms of learning! 

Class placements for 2024

All students have been and will continue to reflect on the new connections they’ve made with peers and their personal growth over the 2023 school year. As part of the process of preparing for the transition into 2024, students work with their teacher to confidentially nominate learning partners that they feel they work best with in the classroom environment for the subsequent year. Please spend some time looking through the presentation all classes have/are reviewing this week/s before they identify their best learning partners.  This is also done as a whole cohort so that they look around to all students in the year level, not just their current class. School Governance Training

To ensure our School Council is effective, we have arranged some training to be held here at Karoo next Tuesday 14th November 7-9:15pm.  

Governance training provides the foundation for a strong, cohesive school council team. Governance training covers:

• the key principles underpinning effective governance
• the different roles & responsibilities of school council and,
• how school council operates

This training is OPEN TO EVERYONE, not just School Council members.  If you are interested in learning more about School Council and may have been thinking about joining at some point - we would welcome you to come along.

Kindness Day on Monday 13th November

We are looking forward to celebrating Kindness Day on Monday with some whole school cross grade activities and the unveiling of our Friendship tree and benches.   Thank you to Ms Gemma Wild who is leading this whole school event, and is being supported by the Student Leadership Wellbeing team as well as the Year 5 action team.    Please see Mrs Hoffmann's page for more information about the background story behind the benches! 

I look forward to seeing Karoo celebrate Kindness Day.  It is one of our Values  Kindness - with courage and connection we belong.  In a world were we can be anything, be kind.
