Principal's Message

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well, we managed to avoid the rain and even got a glimpse of sunshine this afternoon as we ran our annual school sports. There was the usual excitment in the air, with plenty of cheering and supporting of their team mates.

Congratulations to BLUE Team on winning the 2023 COHR School Sports. This was a terrific team effort. The final results were

Red 150

Green 126

Gold 120

Blue 164

Congratulations also to RED Team who won the School Spirit Award. The final results were;

Red 1770

Green 1495

Gold 1440

Blue 1235

The children had a great day, getting into the competitive spirit of the event.

A special thanks to Sue Tobin, our PE teacher, for her organisation of this year's sports. Thanks also to Dave Florio for marking the lines for our races and to all the parents who helped with scoring and ribbons. We really appreciate your support.

World Teacher's Day

Tomorrow the world celebrates our amazing teachers and the important contribution they make to society. Our students here at COHR are so lucky to be educated by an incredibly talented and gifted team of teachers who care so much about the children they teach. I can’t thank them enough for everything they do in our school.

Children are invited to wear a wear a fun hat instead of their school hat so they can tip their hat and acknowledge their teachers.

Education Week Open Classrooms

Our Education Week Open Classrooms held on Tuesday was very well attended by many of our families, including parents, students and siblings. It was a great opportunity for families to move around our beautiful school and engage in different learning experiences in each of the classrooms.

Though this session individuals were invited to collect stamps in their passports which would then give them entry into a draw for some educational games.

Yesterday were drew out the 10 lucky winners. They were;

Jasper - 1/2RG

Rocco (Brother of Matteo ) - 1/2KG

Claudia - 1/2KG

Eli - 3/4G

Paige - 5/6I

Cedar - 5/6C

Nathanial (Brother of Jayden) - 3/4G

Matthew - 5/6C

Mila - 3/4G

Julia - 3/4G

First Aid Course for our Students

Tomorrow all students will participate in a First Aid course specifically designed for primary aged students.

As these lessons commence at 9:00am there will be no assembly in the morning.

Division Softball

Congratulations to our mixed and girls team who reporesented COHR at the recent Division Level at Waverley Softball. A great team effort!

School 2nd Hand Uniform shop

Efforts have begun to sort and tidy our second hand uniform shop and Community Hub.

We have discovered that there are large numbers of items that are either outdated or too worn to be used for anything other than rags.

As a result, we are looking for places/organisations that will accept our old unifroms (that still have considerable life in them) AND rag recyclers. Do you have any contacts in this area? We would also love an additional clothes hanging rack which must have wheels and be sturdy. If you have one at home/work that you no longer have use for we would be happy to take it off your hands.

Please contact Dani Saruallo, via the school office, if you can help.

Yes, we are happy to accept all donations of COHR uniforms. Rather than leaving them inside the doorway (to avoid a tripping hazzard), could we ask that all donations be dropped off in the labelled tubs provided.

Take care everyone!
