Melbourne Renegades Cricket Day

Which cricket grounds are the coolest? The ones full of fans. And we were lucky enough to be in the crowd!

On Wednesday 2nd November, the Year 5 and 6 students went to see the Melbourne Renegades Vs Sydney Thunder in the women's cricket at Junction Oval. We did lots of fun drills/games for 90 minutes before the match started, which included practice of bowling & running.

Students also got signatures from lots of the players & mascots on flags, shirts & shoes.  We were there until 5:30pm cheering on the Renegades and then hopped on the bus to arrive back at 6:00pm. I’m sure most of us were exhausted but we were all really grateful that we got to go.

T20 Cricket

I loved  T20 cricket because it was so much fun playing against other teams /schools. My favourite part was when I bowled and batted because I loved getting to learn from my friends and mentors about a sport I didn’t know much about. Finally, the bus ride back was so fun because I got to share my experience with my friends.

The recently concluded cricket tournament was a thrilling experience for cricket enthusiasts from all around our school. The tournament featured some of St Mary’s’ best cricket teams, and the competition was intense from start to finish. The matches were played in a round-robin format, and it was really fun!

The teams played with great passion and skill, and the matches were filled with exciting moments. There were some standout performances from individual players, which added to the excitement of the tournament. The final match was a nail-biter, with both teams giving their all until the very end.

Overall, the tournament was a great success, and it was a fantastic opportunity for the teachers to watch some high-quality cricket. The atmosphere in the stadiums was electric, and the support from each other was amazing. It was a great showcase of the sport, and it left us eager to do it all again.
