Creativity, Culture and Values

I would like to write briefly about 3 different items.

Firstly, I want to commend to you the Stage 5 Creative Arts Showcase for 2024. On Tuesday night, we enjoyed the 2023 Showcase, and it was quite simply outstanding. Exhibitions included artworks, timber projects, coded programs as well as live Romeo and Juliet scenes and musical performances. It was a very entertaining evening and I want to congratulate all of Stage 5 on their most excellent work.

Secondly, I want to thank so many people for completing the Insight SRC Survey. The purpose of the survey is to use a team of psychologists to look at all aspects of NCS and make recommendations. I wrote in Term 3 about culture and how we want to continually reflect and invest in our culture and the Insight SRC survey is all about looking at our culture objectively. I know we all love our school, but we do not want to rest on our laurels, we are always looking to improve our practice and we will be seriously engaging with the results in the new year.

Thirdly, I would like to update you regarding the recent values survey. Again, I thank you for your completion of the survey. We have now compiled a list of values that will go to the board for their approval and then we will communicate them with our parents, staff and students. Early next year, we will discuss as a staff how we will be intentionally cultivating these values amongst our community, building upon the marvellous reputation that our school has fostered over the years as an institution whose graduating students are of prodigious character.
