In the Mandarin room at the moment, there have been lots of learning and fun activities happening across all grades. 

 

Following Grade 6s, Grade 5 students are also making terracotta warriors with air-dry clay using tools this week. This term, Grade 5/6 students have been exploring the history of the Qin Dynasty and its first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, focusing on finding the reasons for the discovery and creation of the Terracotta warriors. 

 

Grade 3/4 students, on the topic of ‘School subjects and school life,’ are now creating their Chinese timetables, writing in both Chinese characters and pinyin, the Chinese phonetic system. 

 

Grade 1/2 students made fortune cats as part of their animal topic activities this term. They also enjoyed learning the animal topic song, "Daxiang," which means elephant.

Foundation students have learned 12 names of fruits so far such as peaches, apples, and cherries, fully enjoying the topic.
