Student Attribute Average (SAA)

As outlined in a previous edition of the Especean, the Student Attribute Average (SAA) is data which will give parents/carers, students, and teachers quantifiable data in relation to student application and engagement in the classroom. The SAA not only aligns with the College’s Strategic Plan but also with the College’s Learning and Wellbeing Frameworks. Hence, the upcoming Semester One Reports will mark the introduction of the SAA. The ‘Learning Practices’ component of the course report will be replaced by ‘Student Attributes’. The SAA extends the existing information in student reports by providing a numerical average across a student’s application in all their courses.

Should any follow-up be required based on students' SAA's, parents/carers will be contacted by Mr Sinadinos, Mr Simpson and/or relevant Year Coordinators. Furthermore, ‘Certificates of Excellence’ will be awarded to students who have achieved a high SAA in the Semester One Report. Similarly, this will be communicated and presented to students during Term 3.

This is an important initiative at the College in ensuring feedback for students and parents/carers is provided on how students have performed in their application to learning. It will provide opportunities to inform conversations relating to student wellbeing and foster a growth mindset to develop a school-wide culture of excellence.
