Port Power in Schools

On Wednesday of Week 8, Our upper primary students had a special visit from members of the Port Adelaide Football Club. Hannah Ewings, Sachi Syme, Alissa Brook, and Hayden (a Flinders University student on placement with the PAFC) worked with classes to discuss the importance of a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating.

Students competed in a fruit challenge, where they had 30 seconds to name as many fruits as possible. Room 12 won the challenge, naming 23 fruits. All classes managed to beat Sam Powell-Pepper who scored 13.

The players worked with the students to unpack what players need to eat in order to fuel their bodies and be able to perform as well as possible during games. They also looked at water intake and good sleep habits.

The PAFC will be returning to Modbury over the next few weeks to continue the program.
