Children's University
On Site Visit
On Monday of Week 8, we had Luca from the Children's University visit our school and run a lunchtime activity for our Children's University students.
The students were given a kit which contained a marble run and set of 8 challenges to choose from. The challenges varied in difficulty and design. Some revolved around how long the marble had to be racing through the track, others had elements which needed to be included, such as a free fall, or making the marble roll uphill.
Once the children had selected their challenge, they set to work designing a marble run. They had 15 minutes to build their design, and then a few minutes to look over each other's ideas to see if there were any ideas they thought they could incorporate into their own design. With three minutes to go the children finalised and tested their designs.
They did a fantastic job designing, assessing, and redesigning their marble run.
Children's University Graduation Ceremony
We have been given our time for our graduation ceremony. Students who have collected 30 hours will be eligible to attend the ceremony on Wednesday 6th November at 6:00pm. Please remember you must have collected 30 hours by the end of Term 3 to graduate. There are a lot of quick activities on the portal if you need to add some more hours. There will also be extra events added for Children's University students to participate in over the school holidays.
