Building Works

BUILDING WORKS

The final stage of the drainage remediation project has commenced. This project began nearly two years ago and we are pleased to be almost at the completion stage.

Some of the short term implications will be -

  • Temporary fencing will go up on the top basketball court.
  • Access to the Year 1 area will be accessible but ‘modified’ with temporary fencing.
  • The main staffroom will only be accessible from the front door and the back door of the admin building.
  • Access to the library will be via the path along the sandpit, NOT from the top basketball court.
  • Several car parks along Draper Street will be used for tradespeople. No disabled car parks will be taken.
  • Wheelchair access from the front of the school and down the path beside the library will not be accessible.

How have we sourced funding for various work around the school -

  • ABP (accessible buildings program) - modifications that improve access for students, staff or visitors with disabilities (funded by The Victorian Schools Building Authority after an application process led by Ryan Baltetsch, in the Disability and Inclusion space)
  • CAPITAL WORKS –support for building projects to improve the learning environment, condition and character of the school (funded by The Victorian Schools Building Authority and Victorian Government. Funding is often adjusted)
  • SCHOOL LED PROJECT – projects and modifications entirely run/led by the school (not funded by DE, VSBA or the government. Locally raised funds by the school are used)
  • EMP (emergency management program) – addresses unforeseen, urgent infrastructure maintenance issues which pose a risk to safety (potential funding by The Victorian Schools Building Authority)

Have a great week everyone,
