Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations)

This term our Year 11 VCE VM students have been completing an additional VET subject as part of their studies here at Mullauna. The Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations) delivered by Magenta Safety Training educates students of fire dangers, safety and identifying and using firefighting equipment.

Students have learnt how to ‘roll out the hoses’, connect a hose to a hydrant and truck, brace, hold and operate a hose and also fire extinguisher knowledge and skills, among other things.

The students have enjoyed the theory and practical knowledge this course has offered them and will continue studying this Certificate in Term 3.

Year 10  Work Experience

This week has seen our students out and about exploring the world of work! I applaud our students in their courage and enthusiasm to source a placement and undertake their placement with dedication and skill.

Our students had placements in automotive, education, hospitality, retail, horticulture, real estate, healthcare, sports, childcare, vet and many other areas.

Messages from staff after their student visits, and the visits I conducted, confirm our students represent themselves and the college extremely highly and show pride in their work.

Well done, Year 10!
