Padua Koala Habitat Project
On the weekend, Padua College partnered with the Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation in support of its Koala Habitat Project to plant over 25,000 Indigenous trees and shrubs to restore the fragmented koala habitat.
Habitat loss is the main reason for the decline of koalas and Padua College Campus has been identified as a potential koala wildlife corridor. By restoring the Indigenous vegetation, our community provides the correct habitat and food needed to sustain a healthy koala population on the Peninsula for future generations.
On the weekend, St Mary's students, Summer & Evie and Gracie, registered for and attended the Padua College Koala tree planting day. Well done girls on getting involved in community events and helping save the koalas! What a wonderful example of being stewards of the earth, its creatures and caring for our common home.
