Local Author Visit

On Thursday the 16th of May the Year 5/6 students were lucky to receive a visit from local author, Zoe Cottew. Zoe was kind enough to present her new book titled, ‘Pip & Zoe’s Amazing Adventures’ to the senior students, as well as give them some insight into her process as a writer.

Set in Indonesia in the 1970s and 80s, the book is a collection of short stories inspired by true events. Each story is a heartfelt love letter to Zoe’s childhood and the many animals she grew up with, including Jemima the gibbon.

Cassia Whitton brought ‘Pip & Zoe’s Adventures’ to life with her exquisite water colour illustrations that complement the collection of short stories beautifully. There are over 30 illustrations in the book with each illustration taking between two and three weeks to paint!

In the coming weeks, Zoe will be sharing her book with our Year 3 & 4 students.

Next week we have invited Zoe to speak at our whole school assembly and she has kindly agreed to hold a book signing session after school for those who wish to purchase the book at a discounted price of $30 each.

Copies of the book can also be purchased via QKR.
