CAREERS FOR YOUNG WOMEN IN SPORTS FORUM

 

Victoria University is running an exciting program for female students in Years 10 – 12 who aspire to pursue a career in sports. The following is the itinerary for the event. 

 

Keynote speaker: Bianca Chatfield - Media presenter, sports commentator, VU Head Coach Netball Academy and Former Australian Netballer.

 

Industry panel members – Susan Alberti AC, Kate Price, Elizabeth Azzopardi

 

There will be a series of masterclasses incorporating the following themes:

 

Stream 1 – Sport Performance & Rehabilitation

  • Sport Coaching
  • Injury & Rehabilitation
  • Data Analytics & Insights
  • Strength & Performance
  • Sport Facility Management
  • Membership & Public Relations
  • Sponsorship & Event Management
  • Sport & Community Participation & Engagement.

TECH AND TRADES EXPERIENCE DAY

 

RMIT University is hosting a free Tech and Trades Experience Day for students in Years 10 – 12 and their parents/guardians. Students can participate in two hands-on workshops, tour facilities, interact with staff and students, and win prizes. Parents can connect with staff, current students, and industry guests to learn about opportunities at RMIT. Students will have the chance to choose two workshops. Examples are listed below:

  • Surveying
  • Cyber security threats
  • Tiny House – building design
  • Engineering – response of beams and trusses to loading
  • Electrical and electronics engineering
  • Plumbing – pipe joining exercise

Date: Thursday 4 July, 9am – 2pm

Venue: RMIT Melbourne City campus

MATHS CAREERS

 

STEM + X Webinar Series: Maths & Data

 

The STEM + X webinar series is back! This time around, you'll hear from a sports systems statistician, an energy expert, and a healthcare mathematician. Students will get a glimpse into the boundless potential of maths and data degrees, and be able to explore the exciting careers in this area of STEM.

 

Date: Wednesday 29 May 2024.

Time: 12noon (during lunch).

Melbourne Careers Expo

This is Australia’s largest careers expo. You will have the opportunity to: attend information seminars, speak directly with organisations, watch demonstrations, receive career advice, participate in hands-on activities, speak to course advisers from universities and TAFEs, speak to industry experts and learn about apprenticeships, and learn about international exchange and gap year programs. 

 

Dates: Friday 26 - Sunday 28 July.
