Boarding House

- Mr Andrew Monk

PERMA in Boarding.

This week we continue our focus upon the tenets of Positive Education and living a fulfilled life. A life that encompasses:

  • Positive Emotions (P)
  • Engagement (E)
  • Relationships (R )
  • Meaning (M)
  • Accomplishments (A)

A boarder this week suggested that we compete in how well we can create origami. Origami is not just the art of paper construction but it is a wonderful mindfulness exercise. Boarders were resourceful in finding new ways to create art before dinner and share their accomplishments. The vibe was loud and so positive; well done to all, in particular to Mac House who have taken out another win to post on the board (Mae Fraser’ paper crane was a standout).

Our new Boarding Hoodies

Over the past year Bella and Charlie, our Boarding House Captains have been working hard at getting new hoodies that are warm, comfortable, and also quite trendy! A few years ago boarders led the way in creating new logos for each of the Houses. These new logos are now proudly presented on each of the boarding hoodies.

We couldn't be happier with the result. Not only have they come at a good time with this cooler weather, but boarders are wearing them with pride around their House, at dinner, and around town.

Some boarders would like to order a hoodie and another run won't be too far away. Once again thank you to our Boarding House Captains for bringing our House together in such a positive way.
