HAMILTON EISTEDDFOD

Next week sees the 60th Hamilton Eisteddfod.  Close to 50% of the Junior School will compete in competitions as members of the Chamber Singers, Pizzicato Strings, Year 5 Tuned Percussion group, Year 2 Strings or as individual performers. The participation rate is a wonderful testament to the music program on offer at Myrniong.  Best of luck to all competitors.  Thank you to Music specialists Mrs. Christie, Mr. Singh, Mrs. Salt, Mrs. Bell, Mr. Lica and Mr. Hansen for their efforts in preparation of our students.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

The window for booking Parent/Teacher Interviews will remain open until 12.00pm on Friday 8 June. There was a small issue with our SIMON system which allowed for multiple bookings with the one teacher but that has now been rectified.  Parents of children in classes with two teachers (Year 1, 3, 4 and 5) need only book the one interview appointment.  Semester One reports will be released prior to the interviews. Parents are requested to read the reports prior to meeting with classroom and specialist teachers.

Interschool Soccer Match

The Junior School will host Good Shepherd College in a soccer match at lunchtime on Friday. We will be fielding a mixed boys/girls team comprising students from Years 4, 5 and 6. We are hoping that this is the first of many interschool contests with our neighbouring school.

Hockey

Division 5

The Panthers had a great game against Demons Red winning 4-0. It was great to see what we are practising in training happening on the field and the players really lifting in the second half to score the four goals (George Whinney, Bobby Giles, Chelsea Pickford and Eloise Bufton). Player of the Match goes to Evie Pickford for getting lots of the ball and a great effort.

College Tigers were 4-0 winners over Coleraine Gold.
