Men's Hockey

The senior team suffered its third defeat in three games last weekend - another one goal margin in a tight battle.  This week, however, I felt there were many more positives.  We pushed top team Bulls very hard and showed some signs of adjusting well to a new structure.  We still have some work to do to avoid being closed down but all the boys’ efforts were excellent.  Charley Hawthorne, with some neat work at a corner, and Ciaran Nelson, with a superb drive from the top of the circle, were our goal-scorers.

This Sunday, we meet Rams and have the chance to journey further on our quest to discover how good a team we can be!  We always appreciate side-line support and hope to have some more on Sunday - thanks to Jake and Myles for their enthusiastic cheering last week!

Women's Hockey

The College Women's defeated Dunkeld White 7-0. It was a teacher v student showdown, seeing which side could school the other. Key player Sophie Merrin, taking after her brother with grazed knees to keep the one-two going with Bels Little, diving on the ground to fight for the ball. Her pass between the legs of her own and the opposition wowed the crowd. The twin telepathy shined through with Skye and Chloe Headlam scoring on the posts. Daisy Henry and Lily Cush held the half line, with Lily not letting her wrist stop her and Daisy's fast legs catching the quick breakaways. Goal scorers were Skye Headlam (4), Chloe Headlam (1), Bels Little (1), and Emma Robertson (1).
