Heartfelt thanks to the generous families who have donated to Anglicare's YES Housing project. Among donations received in recent days are new doonas, toasters, sheets and other winter comforts and essentials.
YES! Housing (Youth Externally Supported Housing) helps young people aged 15–25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access and maintain stable, longer-term housing with added support to develop independent living and tenancy skills. This is done through case planning and advocacy that is totally unique to the individual, so that every client is supported to achieve their goals.
YES! Housing also offers transitional accommodation in Mount Lawley for young parents and couples for up to 12 months and provides the opportunity to work on clients’ goals in a supported environment whilst developing a rental history.
Often, when young people in the YES! Program are moving into new accommodation they are starting with nothing. Anglicare is currently in need of the following items to support young people when moving into a new home.
