Chaplain's Chat
We are now in the Season of Advent when the church prepares for the arrival of Jesus, looking back to the birth of Jesus and forward to when he comes again. Through the themes of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love we explore all that God has done for us and look forward full of hope to what he will do in and through us. Next year the Anglican Church of Australia are uniting around the theme Hope25, sharing our hope in Jesus. This coincides with the 20th anniversary celebrations of our school which means there is a lot to look forward to!
Christmas Services
Our theme this year was ‘giving and receiving’ inspired by the response of the Angels and Shepherds in Luke 2. They knew the blessing of God’s gift of Christ to the world, the sending of a saviour, as God made his home in the world through Jesus. We heard stories of giving and receiving in our school community reflecting on how blessed we are and the call on our lives of what we do for God and others out of this blessing.
Thank you to Christ Church Anglican for hosting us in their beautiful space and for Rev. Phil Zamagias for welcoming us!
Christmas Hampers
Some many donations! Thank to all our students and families for your generosity. With the help of our Community Spirit Captain, Cara Haley, there has been a real desire to give generously to share the joy of Christmas with others.
It was great to have Tim McCormick, Acting Religion Direction (North Central) from Anglicare to share with our student body how Anglicare use the Hampers and who benefits. They are excited to see what other initiatives we can collaborate on in 2024.
We are proud to support the work of Anglicare as they "work with children, young people and families. We prevent harm and empower people to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.” These hampers provide an opportunity for them to support people in need to know they are not forgotten.
Thank you to the ‘Parents and Friends’ who will be packaging the food items together into Hampers this coming Monday!
