REMEMBRANCE DAY
School Assembly
On Monday 11 November, the school gathered in the stadium (Years 7 to 11) to pay our respects to remember those who gave their lives in service to their country, those who returned home injured or ill, and those who bravely serve our country today.
This year marks the 106th anniversary of the Armistice that ended fighting with Germany in World War I.
Thank you to the SRC students: Kenzie, Axel, Dylan, Jordy, Ebony, Charlie, Sigourney, Minnah, and Jacob, who led the assembly.
Past LHS student Oscar Geddes was invited to speak about the significance of Remembrance Day and to share the insights into his personal experience and involvement with the Army Cadets.
The assembly concluded with LHS Rock Band 'ABC' (Callum, Ari and Ben) performing 'Never Let Go' by Bryan Adams.
Lilydale War Memorial
Ruby Davis and Oscar Moreton (Year 11) had the honour of representing Lilydale High School at the Remembrance Day Service at Lilydale War Memorial.
They read ‘In Flanders Fields’ and were invited to place a wreath on the monument.
