Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Thank you!

A big thank you to our families that attended our assembly last Friday and joined us on the front lawns to launch the first component of the Colour Run. The children thoroughly enjoyed the Sliming Event and we cannot express our gratitude for the generosity of our families throughout this major fundraiser for our school.

We hope to see lots of families lining the route, spectating during the children's Colour Run this Friday.

2025 Student Leaders

The selection process for our 2025 school leaders is well underway.

We have lots of very proud staff that have witnessed outstanding speeches and many passionate and eager students to fulfil these roles at our school for 2025.

Student Leaders will be announced at Presentation Evening on Wednesday December 18.

The Badge Presentation of our leaders will be on Friday February 7 at 2:30 pm.

With Christmas around the corner...

In line with our food sharing and food provision policy, we will not be having class parties where food is shared this year. In terms of the giving of wrapped Candy Canes, as a gift to friends, this will still be allowed. However, teachers will ensure that the Candy Canes go home with the children still wrapped to be enjoyed at home.

Lots of events still to come!

Stay tuned for further information regarding events happening at school including...

  • Social Squad Picnics
  • Colour Run
  • K-F Transition
  • Buddy Lunches
  • Year 3 Camp
  • National Transition Day
  • Christmas Carry-on
  • Miners Rest Transition Day 2
  • Graduation Day
  • Presentation Evening
  • and more....

Join us as we make the most of the rest of the 2024 school year,
