Purple Group’s Bug-tastic Adventures!

Purple Group has been buzzing with excitement as they explore the world of insects and bugs! It all began when the children noticed an increase in harlequin bugs and ladybugs in our kinder backyard. This sparked their curiosity, and we decided to investigate further.

We ventured into the schoolyard to see what other creepy crawlies we could find. The children were fascinated and eager to learn more about the important roles these tiny creatures play in our environment.

We were incredibly fortunate to welcome Bec from Bec’s Bees for a special visit. Bec taught us how to stay safe around bees, shared fascinating insights into how bees collect pollen, and explained why it’s so important to protect them.

Inspired by Bec’s visit, the Purple Group worked together to create a bug hotel! This little habitat will provide a safe place for insects to rest and shelter in our kinder backyard.

It’s been wonderful to see the children’s enthusiasm for learning and their growing 

appreciation for the natural world.
