Kitchen Garden
4R
4R had their turn in the kitchen, on Wednesday, chopping, cooking and creating and delicious and colourful 3 course meal.
Miles’ mum, Kate, helped a group prepare an entree of cheeses, pickles, crackers and veggie sticks. Kate works at Saputo Allansford, who have supported our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program here at WEPS this year.
Thank you Saputo and Cheese World for supplying us with dairy products. We really appreciate your support.
Mr Richardson, with the help of pizza pro Oskar Dart from 4C, helped a group shape pizza dough and add their own choice of toppings to make 24 pizzas!
Allesha guided a group who made a beautifully coloured fresh fruit salad which was served with yogurt.
The table was one big happy rainbow of excited children and delicious food. Well done 4R!
As we near the end of the year, I would like to thank all of the parents/ grandparents/ friends who have volunteered their time in the garden and/or kitchen this year. A special thank you to Peta Pye and Katrina Carey (and Amos) for regularly volunteering in the garden and kitchen. Your support doesn’t go unnoticed and the students really enjoy sharing experiences like this with you.
Thank you to all of the families and staff who have purchased kitchen garden produce this year, your donations go directly back into the program to ensure it’s ongoing success.
And finally, thank you to all of the students who have helped in the garden this year, it’s an absolute joy to be able to share my love of gardening and cooking with you all.
Allesha.
