Italian Day
MONDAY, 18th NOVEMBER - ITALIAN DAY
The students of Resurrection Primary School came to school dressed in Italian theme outfits and colours verde, bianco e rosso. They were then immersed in cultural and language activities throughout the day.
The Preps made Roman mosaic vases. Year One students made paper pizzas WITHOUT pineapple! The Year Two students watched Zucchero Filato and made a mobile Pinocchio. Year Three & Four looked at the history of Leonadrdo Da Vinci and drew their own modern Mona Lisa. Year Five and Six students redesigned a Pizza Box to complete their unit of Il cibo. They also played il calcio at recess and lunchtime.
The school was thoroughly engaged during the performance "That's Amore." The staff and students were all involved in singing and traditional Italian dances, the Tarantella.
At lunchtime, students feasted on pizza and gelato.
We concluded our Italian Day with a whole school parade. Students put a lot of effort into their costumes. There were a lot of prizes. Sara in Year Five was awarded the Italian costume and Spirit prize- a mountain of gelati!
Well done Signorina for all your hard work.
Una giornata fantastica!
