In year four, we have been learning many different things in all subjects. This year, we have learnt decimals and many other things.
In writing we have been learning about Procedures, Explanation texts and Information reports. The most recent writing we have been learning about is Information reports, It is a type of text that shares information about things or living things. We made different recipes to create procedures writing the method to add what we did.
In Year 4, we have been learning about decimals, equivalent fractions, and money. We have been converting decimals into fractions and vice versa. We have also learnt about time, short division, multiplication, and the jump strategy. The most recent thing we have been doing in maths is Money. We are learning about notes and coins and how to get change in cents. We did a fun shopping activity where we got to spend real money! In maths, we also learned about maps and how to read them properly. We also learnt how to place coordinates on a grid. We got to create our own map and write directions form one place to another!!
In Year 4, we have been doing inquiry, we have been learning about forces such as gravity, friction, spring, push and pull as well as matter, solids, liquids, and gases. It was a fascinating topic. We created a project on friction learning about all of the different types of friction.
For Religion, we have been learning about stories of Jesus or stories told by him that have excellent morals and lessons within the stories. One story we have read this year is The Road To Emmaus. It's a story of Jesus dying and returning to life, meeting his disciples, praying, and disappearing so the two would spread the word that he was back.
