Navigating Teenage Boys

Last night I attended a very informative session on Navigating Teenage Boys at WDHS which was facilitated by Stu Willder and Vinu Sebastian.

Some of the key messages which resonated with me included:

  • Communication with boys= KISS- Keep it simple, short
  • Drip feed the most important information to boys, Mums especially speak too much, and most teenage boys only hear 25% of what is said!
  • Pick the dance you want to have- in terms of arguments and consequences, what is the aim of the consequence and what impact will the argument have on your relationship?
  • Teenage boys need at least 8-10 hours of sleep a night for the brain to reset
