Dear Parents and Carers,
It's been a bustling couple of weeks at the College and I remain deeply grateful for the efforts of everyone in our community. Monivae is a place that celebrates and uplifts each member as we strive to be the very best we can be.
Last week, we were thrilled to welcome 118, 2025 Year 7 students, parents and carers to their first evening and function at the College. It was an opportunity for many of the students and families to make new connections and establish the beginnings of new friendships. Our staff and student Leaders were exceptional ambassadors, providing new families with a warm welcome into the Monivae community. There is a large intake of Year 7’s next year, in fact we are now having to waitlist any other enrolment enquiries. Applications for 2026 are now open and I encourage you to get in early.
VCE exams conclude next week and our Headstart program, for Year 11 into 12, commences soon. The Year 7-10 exam period runs from December 2 – 5 and our final student day for the year is the following day. I can’t quite believe we have three weeks to go!
The wellbeing of our students is a priority and one of the approaches to wellbeing is our ongoing involvement with Teen Mental Health First Aid, a program Monivae has been promoting for nearly 10 years. All of our Year 8 & 10 students received the training this term. My thanks to the wellbeing team who, outside of their daily demands, deliver this important program.
And of course, the last few weeks wouldn’t have been complete without students representing Monivae at sport. Year 7 and 8 teams competed in the GWR Basketball competition in Ballarat, while students the week before competed in the Warrnambool shoot. My thanks to the staff who have supported our students competing in these teams.
Kind regards,
