Foundation Tours and Enrolments 2026
We’re already seeing strong interest in Foundation enrolments for 2026, with many future families having toured Belgrave South and registered their intention to enrol.
If you have a sibling starting school next year, please collect an enrolment form from the office as soon as possible.
If you know families with kinder-aged children, we warmly encourage you to invite them to contact us to arrange a tour. I would be delighted to welcome them and share what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
Stax-A-Fun Fete 2026
What an incredible day! Our school fete was a tremendous success. The sun was shining—and so was our vibrant school community. We were thrilled to see such a fantastic turnout, with so many people coming together to support our wonderful school.
An event of this scale takes an extraordinary amount of effort and dedication. Our heartfelt thanks go to the amazing organising committee who worked tirelessly to plan every detail and deliver a flawless event. Special thanks to Lynn Bok, Carol Ould, Jackie Pancutt, Karen Penwarden, Luke Hansen, Dale Edmondson, Meaghan Christian, Skye Hewitt, Kelly Papatolicas, Rhonda Brigham, Claire Bowen, Benetia McKenzie , Susan Northway, Jessica Aitken, Danika Dakic and Aaron Sargent for leading major aspects of the fete with such skill and commitment. We are incredibly grateful for all the time and effort invested into our school fete.
Thank you to Nat Reeves and Clint Novak for their incredibly generous sponsorship of our event.
A big thank you also to our stall captains and fete committee members, whose months of preparation made Stax-A-Fun 2025 a standout success. Your passion and dedication did not go unnoticed.
Behind the scenes, an incredible team led the set-up and pack-down, working from first light on the day. Their experience, precision, and teamwork ensured everything was ready for the big day—thank you for going above and beyond.
To the many parents and friends who volunteered their time to help run school stalls—thank you for your generosity and energy. Your contribution was vital to the day’s success.
We also appreciate the generous donations of supplies, hamper items and raffle prizes. Your kindness directly supports our fundraising efforts to continue improving our school for all students.
And finally, to everyone who came along and joined in the fun—thank you! It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the day together. With your support, we raised over $25,000—a truly outstanding result.
Buildings and Grounds Development
Putting the profits from the fete to good and instant use, we’re excited to share that several major improvements to our school environment are now underway. The first phase of renovations to our student toilet facilities has commenced in the Bartley Learning Centre, bringing much-needed upgrades to refresh these facilities to make sure that they are welcoming for all students. The inside toilets in the main corridor will be upgraded next.
At the same time, construction has begun on a new pergola and outdoor learning space next to the breezeway, which will provide a versatile, shaded area for classes, school group activities, and community use. The slab and pergola will be installed first with seating coming later in the year and new barbeque facilities on the horizon.
Elsewhere on the grounds, the new ramps and stairs around The Bartley Learning Centre and Main Admin building have now been completed, with handrails and balustrades all now installed.
We’re also looking forward to finishing the planting of the cleared garden beds, giving our landscaping club plenty of exciting new areas to design and care throughout the term.
It’s fantastic to see these developments taking shape and helping us create a more inclusive, engaging, and enjoyable school environment for everyone.
Bread Donations Program – A Friendly Reminder
We’re so lucky to offer free bread to families every Monday, thanks to the wonderful generosity of Bakers Delight and to Mel T and Oliver T for coordinating the program each week—we’re so grateful for the time and effort you put in to make this possible. It’s a fantastic way to reduce food waste and support our school community.
A reminder: from next Monday and we are kindly asking that adults collect the bread, rather than students. This helps ensure everything is shared fairly and that the bread is not being taken when not wanted.
Celebrating Our 2025 Student Leaders
Last week, we proudly presented our 2025 student leaders with their badges during a special assembly. This celebratory event marked the official beginning of their leadership journey—a significant milestone for our senior students.
Our School Captains, Vice Captains, House and Vice House Captains, and Portfolio Holders will have many opportunities for personal growth and to make a meaningful contribution to the improvement of our school. With the introduction of student project teams, our young leaders will take on increased responsibility and accountability as they lead improvement initiatives across various areas of school life.
Throughout the year, they will be called upon to lead school-wide events, represent Belgrave South at external functions, and act as ambassadors within the wider community. While the journey ahead will be both challenging and rewarding, it will undoubtedly help build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility in each of our leaders.
Congratulations to all of our 2025 student leaders—I look forward to supporting and sharing in your leadership journey.
