Year 1

Year 1 students have been busy with their swimming program this week, so they haven’t had PE. Before swimming began, in Week 9 of Term 3, students enjoyed a variety of fun games that focused on teamwork, catching, throwing, dodging, and running. It was a great way to finish the term with energy and teamwork!

Year 2

Year 2 students have started their Athletics unit in preparation for their very first Athletics Day in Term 1 next year. They’ve learned what to expect on the day and have begun practising events such as triple jump and shot put. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and willingness to try new skills.

Health

October is Walk to School Month!

October is Walk to School Month, a fantastic initiative from VicHealth that encourages children and families to build healthy, active habits that last a lifetime.

Walking to school is a simple way for students to start the day feeling great, stay active, and develop lifelong routines that support their physical and mental wellbeing. Even a short walk helps improve mood, confidence, self-esteem, and social connections with friends, family, and neighbours.

Beyond the personal benefits, walking to school also helps make a difference in our community. Fewer cars on the road mean safer school streets, less traffic congestion, and a healthier environment for everyone.

Although October is our spotlight month, the message continues year-round. Walking, riding, or scooting to school whenever possible helps create happier, healthier students and safer, more connected neighbourhoods. Just remember, wear a helmet!

Let’s get moving, Craigieburn Primary! Encourage your child to join in and walk, ride, or scoot to school this month. Every step counts!

School Sport

Craigieburn Primary School Sporting Success!

We’re proud to celebrate some outstanding recent sporting achievements from our Craigieburn Primary School students!

Mason from 6A recently represented our school at the Northern Metropolitan Athletics Championships in the Long Jump event. Mason competed against some of the best young athletes from across the region and did an incredible job, finishing 6th overall. What a fantastic effort and achievement. Well done, Mason!

We also congratulate our Year 5 and 6 Girls Basketball Team, who represented CPS at the Woodlands Division Championship. The girls played with great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day, finishing 3rd overall in a very competitive field.

The team should be extremely proud of their effort and the way they represented our school.

A big congratulations to Mason and the Girls Basketball Team for their hard work, commitment, and school pride, we’re all very proud of you!
