Student Voice and Agency – Hot dog and donut Monday

Our students, working alongside our Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader, Kate Watkins, as part of our Student Voice Team (SVT) have been thinking of ideas to engage students in the playground.  From these discussions students wanted more equipment for our sandpit so they decided to run a special lunch.  This was a great success and Nathan and Gus were very proud of their efforts and proudly wore their special uniform.  Thanks to everyone who supported this.  We will be adding some new digging toys soon!  Thanks to Hollie and Rosie for there help too.

WOW – Wear Orange Wednesday

This week is National Volunteer week and to acknowledge the efforts of the SES staff and students were encouraged to wear orange with a gold coin donation.  This year marks 50 years of SES volunteering which is great service to the community.

Thanks to our volunteers too.

Each week we rely heavily on some very dedicated people who support our students with extra literacy or numeracy as part of our Tutor Learning Initiative led by Alison.  Helping our students read, supporting them with spelling and developing number skills to support the work of our teachers is invaluable and we are very grateful and appreciative.  To Chris, Judy, Davida, Jess and Sharyne we say thank you and hope you enjoyed the delicious muffins made by the students in Plot to Pot this week.

Our Breakfast Club runs each and every Tuesday morning before school and this year Mark and Emma have been setting this up and having wonderful interactions to start the school day.  Thanks to Hollie for ensuring we have the supplies from Foodbank to run this program.

Whole school Production – save the date

‘Neptune’s Displeasure’ will be happening on Wednesday 10th September.  Anne is working with our underwater ocean theme to create this year’s production. Please keep the evening free.

Foundation 2026 Enrolment and Term 2 School Tours

This term schools across the state begin the enrolment process for Foundation in 2026. New and existing families are invited to tour the school by making an appointment.

We have plenty of activities to look forward to in the next couple of weeks so I encourage everyone to check compass and calendars for upcoming dates.
