Library News

Hello Parents and Carers,
Book Week is Coming!
Next term is Book Week, a highly anticipated event in the library where we come together to celebrate the magic of literature, the creativity of writing, and the incredible world of storytelling. This year's theme is 'Book an Adventure', inviting students to explore far-off places, secret lairs, magical treasures, and the captivating journeys of heroes and villains found within the pages of their favourite books. Throughout the week, we will host a variety of fun activities, including storytime sessions that highlight the wonderful adventures that books can offer. We will also celebrate our Book Week parade during Education Week, alongside our annual Open Day, allowing families to join in the festivities. More details about these exciting events will be shared soon, but for now, we encourage everyone to start thinking about their Book Week costume and how they can embody the adventurous spirit of their favourite characters!
Calling All Volunteers
The Library team is looking for parent volunteers who might be willing to help us in the library. We will train you on how to use the computers, stack the shelves, and assist Ms. Lee with preparing the books for the shelves. If you were one of the lovely parents who helped Ms. Lee last term, your help would be invaluable, but we also welcome assistance from anyone in our community who is willing to lend a hand.
If you are interested in helping Mr. Matthews and Ms. Lee, please contact the office via email with your name, contact information, and the days you are available to help, and ask for Mr. Matthews. He will forward your information to our office manager, and we will arrange for your time to start helping in the school library.
Thank you in advance!
That's it from us in the library. Have a great long weekend, and remember to keep on reading!
Book Club - Issue 4
Your children should have received Book Club Issue 4. We encourage you to explore the magazine and consider purchasing from the fantastic range available from Scholastic. When you buy a book, the school receives 15% of the purchase as credit, which will be used to acquire more books for our library. Please see the information below on how to order.
The catalogue offers great weekend reading, making this the perfect time to place your orders. Please note that orders close on Wednesday 18 June..
Reminder: 15% of your Book Club purchases directly benefits our school, providing rewards that help us enhance our library collection. Thank you for your support and orders!
