It was great to see experienced students coming in prepared to share their dance, drama and music talents with their peers in class. A highlight for me was seeing new students get up and have a go. It's a different feeling facing an audience with lights shining and microphones on amplifying sounds. We are incredibly fortunate here at ACPS to have a well-equipped theatre on site where we can offer exposure, familiarisation and confidence building opportunities in public speaking and performance each week. Talents shared this year included roller skating, acro, tap dancing, hip hop, catchy "Chicken Banana" and "Apatea" songs, magic tricks, piano, bass and electric guitar, ukulele jammin and plenty of dancing from the heart. Thanks everyone for sharing your skills and being enthusiastic audience participants to support and encourage your peers.
BIG THANKS to the parents and students who joined us for the Seussical working bee on Saturday 17 May. Gavin had undercoated lots of things for us to paint and Rob (co set designer) cut lots of interesting shapes to make the set pop!
We would love for our children to have 3 sell out performances to celebrate all the work they have put into the experience. Please grab some more flyers from the front office and hand them out as you are inviting your friends from all your networks: netball, baseball, church, footy, scouts/cubs, irish dancing classes etc. Get Grandma and Grandpa involved in bringing their friends along - it will be such an uplifting and happy show for all!
