Success Criteria

This term, our team is focusing on using Success Criteria with our young people, from Kindergarten through to Stage 3.

Success Criteria are clear, specific descriptions of what success looks like in the learning. They help learners understand what is needed to achieve the learning intention. By making expectations visible, success criteria guide our young people in planning, monitoring, and evaluating their progress. This clarity fosters self-assessment and reflection, allowing learners to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

When young people refer to success criteria, they develop a greater sense of responsibility for their learning, build confidence, and become more independent. Ultimately, success criteria empower learners to take ownership and actively direct their own growth and achievement.
