Playground and Basketball Works

We wish to inform you that essential maintenance work will take place this Thursday, 29 May, on our playground and basketball courts. This is part of our regular maintenance to provide a safe and enjoyable playground and basketball court for our students.

Please observe all barriers and signage indicating restricted areas. Some sections of the playground and courts will be temporarily closed to ensure safety during the works. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we enhance our facilities. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office.

100 Year Celebration

We are thrilled to announce that Yarra Road Primary School is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year! Since 1925, our school has been a cornerstone of the community, nurturing generations of learners. This milestone is a testament to the dedication of our staff, students, and families over the years.

To commemorate this special occasion, we are planning events on the 12th and 13th of September - save the date! We invite all past and present members of the Yarra Road Primary School community to join us in the celebrations. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming events and how you can get involved.

We look forward to celebrating this significant milestone with you all!

Book Donation

We are pleased to announce that Yarra Road Primary School has received a generous donation of the book "Good Dads, Great Dads" by Mal White. This insightful resource offers practical advice and inspiration for fathers seeking to strengthen their relationships with their children.

If you are interested in receiving a complimentary copy, please feel free to visit the school office during school hours. Copies are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to collect your copy soon.

We hope this book serves as a valuable tool in supporting and celebrating the important role of fathers in our school community.

National Reconciliation Week

This week is National Reconciliation Week (NRW), a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2025 theme, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present, and future.

At Yarra Road Primary School, all of our students have learnt about the history of this week and have enjoyed participating in a variety of activities to express their understanding. We look forward to sharing our learning with you in this newsletter and the next.
