P.E.

Congratulations to all the students and their parents/carers who attended the District Cross Country. It was great to see the learning curve of the students, the way they have been challenged and how many of them trained for their race! Luca Prohasky in the 12/13 boys managed to finish first! Well Done, Luca!!

A few players of the Carlton football team will be visiting the school across the term! I can arrange for your child to meet them if they would like! The next two dates are the 4th and 12th June. Two of the players are recruits from Ireland's Gaelic football!

The trials for the 100m are completed and we are setting up the relay teams taken from the recorded times. All children get an opportunity to try out for all of the athletic events across the term. The next will be the high jump for the 3/4s up to 5/6.

Congratulations to the Foundation students. It feels like this is the first group of children since Covid who had a full pre-school program. They are very settled and keen to learn new skills and play together.

The Winter sports Gala Day is on Friday 13th and the 5/6s students are practising soccer, netball, and rounders. This is a full day of team sport and a chance to qualify for a higher round.

WOW Walk or Ride and the golden boot competition has been operating through the term. We are recording how many students walk or ride to school or any other form of locomotion on Wednesdays. It's nice to see the students trying their hardest for their class to win the Golden Boot each week. Congrats to the winning classes so far: Matt, James and Raph. The recording is averaged out over the class size and recorded on a spreadsheet as a percentage. This makes it equitable for all grades to win the Golden Boot and a special prize for the best class at the end of the term. A pizza paid for by the Darebin Council and WOW team!!

I'm looking forward to the term ahead and the colder months. Be sure that all students have runners for P.E. and comfortable outdoor sporting attire. Layers are best, and of course a good warm up always helps!

Thanks Everyone
