Term 2, Year Level Update

Our Prep learners have been using the hand bells to follow the rhythm of ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ as well as create their own sound working collaboratively and performing to their class on the stage.

A favourite activity in Years 1/2 have been creating their own dance and movement to a song. Students work in teams and small groups to come up with a 30 second routine. It has been lovely to watch them connect and work as a team to be prepared for presenting. At times we use the props such as scarves and hula hoops which create an extra challenge for students to incorporate.

In Years 3/4, Djembe drums and well as hand bells have been experimented with. Students have learnt some line dancing as well as practiced for the upcoming talent show. Acting and drama has been a major focus using props, costume and characters to present impromptu mini acts to the class.

Our Year 5/6 class have trialled many various acting and drama situations. From becoming a character to portraying an emotion. I have been impressed by the willingness that our senior primary have to try new things and be out of their comfort zone. Well done to you all.

Kyabram’s Got Talent

With Week 9 fast approaching, students have been practising their acts and getting ready to perform. Students have the opportunity to enter the talent show with something they have prepared as well as those classes who have Performing Arts this semester all have an act to present.

At this stage, there are around 20 acts that will present their talent at the Hall on stage on Friday 19 June. Start time will be 12:00 pm sharp with Prep to Year 6 students coming across to watch. Please feel free to attend as an audience member and support our students in their outstanding talents. We will be finished by 1:15 pm in time for students to head back to their eating areas and have their lunch.

I would like to shout out to Miss Melissa and Dance Illusions for their amazing coaching, time and costume contribution to the students. They are all so excited to perform and we are all grateful for the extra effort you are putting in for the kids. A true community superstar!
