Year 12 Entering the Final Stretch!

As Term 3 draws to a close, our Year 12 students are entering one of the most significant periods of the year. While there is still plenty to achieve, it is also a time to reflect on the wonderful memories, achievements and growth our students have experienced throughout the year.
A Day of Adventure at Enchanted Adventure
Our Year 12 students recently enjoyed a fantastic day at Enchanted Adventure, providing an opportunity for the cohort to spend time together, have fun and create lasting memories.
Students embraced the challenges throughout the day, climbing through the trees, navigating a range of aerial challenges, tree surfing and enjoying the slides. It was wonderful to see students encouraging one another, stepping outside their comfort zones and enjoying the opportunity to spend time together as a group.
Our teachers also got involved in the activities, making it a memorable experience for both students and staff. Days like this are an important reminder that Year 12 is about more than academic achievement, it is also about connection, friendship and celebrating the journey together.
Our Year 12 Students Are Doing Us Proud
We are incredibly proud of the hard work and commitment our Berwick College Year 12 students have demonstrated throughout the year. Several students have already received early university offers for 2027, which is a fantastic reflection of their dedication to learning and their commitment to their future pathways.
These achievements are a wonderful indication of what our students can accomplish when they apply themselves and remain focused on their goals. We look forward to celebrating many more exciting achievements and milestones with our Year 12 students in the months ahead.
Preparing for the Final Exams
As we approach the end of Term 3, we recognise that this can be a particularly stressful time for Year 12 students. The final Unit 4 SACs have now been completed, and students are turning their attention towards their VCE end-of-year exams.
The stakes can feel high at this stage of the year, making it important for students to establish productive study routines, use effective study techniques and thoroughly prepare for their exams. Just as importantly, students need to remember to look after themselves throughout this period.
Study Tips for Success
As exams approach, it is important that students focus not only on how much they study, but also on how effectively they study.
- Create a realistic study schedule Break your subjects into manageable sections and set specific goals for each study session. Avoid trying to cover everything in one night.
- Practice, don’t just read Complete practice questions, past exam questions and timed responses. The more familiar you become with the style of questions, the more confident you will feel on exam day.
- Learn from your mistakes When completing practice questions, don’t simply check your answers and move on. Take the time to understand why an answer was incorrect and what you can do differently next time.
- Ask for help If there is a concept, topic or question you don’t understand, speak to your teachers. Asking for help early can make a significant difference to your confidence and understanding.
- Take regular breaks Effective study requires concentration. Short, regular breaks can help you maintain your focus and avoid burnout.
- Look after yourself Sleep, exercise, healthy meals and time away from your desk are all important. Preparing for exams is a marathon, not a sprint!
Most importantly, remember that consistent effort over time is far more effective than last-minute cramming. Believe in the work you have already put in and use the coming weeks to build on it.
School Holiday Study Period
The upcoming school holiday period provides students with valuable time to consolidate their learning and prepare for their end-of-year exams.
Students are encouraged to regularly check Compass for information regarding the exam preparation opportunities available throughout the holidays.
Week 1 will include English and General Mathematics exam workshops.
Week 2 will provide students with opportunities to participate in practice exam sessions.
Specific dates, times and further information are available on Compass. We strongly encourage students to make the most of these opportunities as they prepare for their final exams.
Looking Ahead – Valedictory
Preparations for our 2026 Valedictory celebrations are well underway, and ticket purchases have now been finalised. We are looking forward to bringing our students and families together to celebrate the achievements, growth and journey of the Class of 2026.
As we enter the final stretch, we encourage our Year 12 students to continue to show up, work hard and achieve great things. We are incredibly proud of how far they have come and look forward to supporting them through the final stage of their Year 12 journey.
We wish all Year 12 students and their families a safe and restful holiday period and look forward to seeing our students return refreshed and ready for the final weeks of their secondary schooling.
