Year 7
As Term 3 comes to a close, it’s hard to believe that we are officially 75% of the way through our first year of secondary college!
It has been another action-packed term, filled with new skills, fantastic presentations and memorable whole-school events, including Hollows & Flynn Day. It has been wonderful to see our Year 7 students continue to learn, grow and embrace the many opportunities available to them.
Year 7 information night
Our second Year 7 Information Night for 2026 was a fantastic opportunity to connect with families and share valuable information to support students throughout their secondary school journey.
The evening covered a range of topics, including how to check in with your young person, understanding progress and semester reports, the Victorian Curriculum as a learning continuum, the role of AI in education and the benefits of homework.
A big thank you to all the families who attended and engaged with the evening. We hope you left with some valuable insights and practical strategies to support your young person’s learning and wellbeing.
Feeling hungry?
Just a reminder that fresh fruit is available for our Year 7 students during lunchtime. You will find the fruit outside the Year 7 Leaders’ office so if you are feeling hungry or need a little extra fuel, come by and grab a piece!
Uniform reminders:
Whilst the weather is improving, it is still worth noting that we have noticed that the uniform has been slipping, with hoodies and black tracksuit pants being the main culprits, so we would like to take this opportunity to remind you that hoodies are not allowed under any circumstances, and tracksuit pants must be navy blue in line with our school colours. We appreciate you supporting the school on this matter.
Reminder - Mobile Phones
Recently, we have noted an increase in mobile phone use and defiance around phone use across the school. We kindly ask that you help us by reminding your child that mobile phones are not permitted at school. Should phones be brought to school, they should be kept secure inside a locked locker, not in pockets or pencil cases. In the event that a student needs to find alternate, safe storage, they are welcome to use the locked boxes in the main office. Students are always welcome to contact home using school landlines if required.
This also extends to students using phones to pay for items at the canteen. We ask students to use their bankcards or order online before school and we have requested that the canteen support our school to enforce this policy. If you believe that your child should be considered for an exemption due to a medical condition, please contact an Assistant Principal for advice.
Year 7 Soccer Fridays
Mr Ross and Mr Bowen are running a soccer competition every Friday at the start of lunch in the Stadium for Year 7 students. This will be where you can come and play soccer whilst earning points for your year level! At the end of the term, the year level with the most points will win a reward of some type.
Please make sure you head down to the stadium to earn points and meet some new people who also enjoy playing soccer.
