Acting Principal Report 

Term 3 has been a particularly busy and rewarding period for Berwick College, with an enormous amount happening across the College, particularly throughout the second half of the term.

School life at Berwick College continues to be full, vibrant and diverse. Our students have embraced a wide range of opportunities, including outstanding musical and dance performances, basketball tournaments and a huge range of SSV sporting competitions. These opportunities provide our students with the chance to demonstrate not only their talents, but also the values of Aspiration, Belonging, Community, Diligence and Excellence that underpin our College.

Alongside these activities, our continued focus on teaching and learning has remained a priority. We have continued to see improvements in assessment practices, with greater consistency and clarity in the way student learning is communicated. Our reporting processes continue to develop, providing families with clearer information about student progress, achievement and areas for growth. This work is important in ensuring that students, staff and families have a shared understanding of where students are at and what they need to do next. The student learning conferences last Tuesday was a great time for families to discuss their child’s progress.  

Student wellbeing has also remained central to our work throughout the term. We continue to strengthen the structures, routines and support available to students, while maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement and contribution. Our work around the supervision and use of student toilets has also continued to improve, with increased supervision helping to ensure these spaces remain safe, respectful and accessible for all students.

As we look towards Term 4, our Year 12 students are entering a particularly significant period. They will complete their final term of schooling before the VM students complete their course and the VCE students undertake their VCE examinations, with practice examinations taking place during the upcoming holidays. We wish our Year 12 students every success as they enter the final stages of their secondary schooling. The commitment and effort they have demonstrated throughout the year should make them proud, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements with them.

It has been a genuine pleasure to lead Berwick College during this period. I have felt incredibly supported by our staff and students, and I would like to thank everyone for the way they have contributed to the continued positive direction of the College. Leading a school is a collective effort, and the commitment of our staff, the enthusiasm of our students and the support of our families are what make Berwick College such a strong community.

I hope all students, staff and families enjoy a well-earned break over the holidays. I look forward to seeing everyone return refreshed and ready for another successful term.

Presentation Night  - Save the Date

Our 2026 Presentation Night will be held on Monday 30 November, 6:00 pm at Bunjil Place. The night will be a celebration and recognition of significant achievement from Years 7 - 11 in 2026. We look forward to presenting to families, peers and the wider community, our 2026 award recipients.
