Year 3/4

Aboriginal First Peoples Learning
In Term 3, the Year 3/4 students learnt about the history and culture of Australia’s First Peoples. They explored the significance of storytelling, art, and traditions, and discovered how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have shared knowledge and values across generations.
Students also investigated Aboriginal symbols, artwork, and traditional building methods. They reflected on how these practices connect deeply to Country and community, and how they continue to play an important role in keeping culture strong today.
As part of their term project, the students worked creatively to design and build miniature versions of traditional huts in dioramas. This hands-on task allowed them to combine research, creativity, and teamwork while developing a meaningful appreciation for the knowledge and skills of Australia’s First Peoples.
Year 4 Marimba Performance
The Year 4 students worked very hard throughout last term to prepare their marimba pieces, and their performances were simply magical at assembly at the end of last term. They played beautifully, showing great teamwork, rhythm, and dedication to their learning.
We are excited to share that there will be a special performance this term on Tuesday 18 November, where all parents/carers will be invited to celebrate their wonderful achievements. More information will be sent out soon.
