Term 4 Wellbeing Newsletter

đ« Term 4 Focus: Respectful Relationships & Gender Equality
As part of our Term 4 Health and Wellbeing program, students will be engaging in two important learning topics that focus on respectful relationships, equality, and safety. These lessons are designed to be age-appropriate, inclusive, and support your child in building positive values and life skills.
đ Topic 7: Gender Norms & Stereotypes
In this unit, students will explore:
- How gender stereotypes (e.g. "girls wear pink" or "boys don't cry") can limit people's choices and opportunities.
- The importance of equality, inclusion, and respect for people of all genders.
- The idea that everyone should be free to express who they are, enjoy the activities they like, and be treated fairly.
- The value of kind and respectful relationships that include and support everyone.
đ€ Topic 8: Positive Gender Relationships
This topic supports students to:
- Learn the difference between safe and unsafe behaviours in relationships â at school, at home, online, and in the community.
- Understand their right to feel safe, have control over their own bodies, and how to say ânoâ when something doesnât feel right.
- Build strategies for seeking help, supporting friends, and caring for themselves.
- Understand that violence and unfair treatment are never okay, and that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness.
đŹ Working Together
We know that children learn best when schools and families work in partnership. These conversations will be handled with care, and all content will be delivered using age-appropriate language and resources.
